Plein Air Painting

with Mike Martin

Discover the art of painting outdoors and dive into the basics of plein air painting. Whether you’re wielding oils, watercolors, or pastels, this workshop is your gateway to understanding the fundamentals.

Outdoor painters love plein air for many reasons. One of the most common is the act of being outside and connecting with nature, along with the fact that when painting outdoors, one must make quick decisions about elements such as composition and color. Working quickly keeps you in the moment and lets you get the essence of the scene onto your canvas before the light or other factors change.

In this workshop you will receive first hand experience in setting up on the scene, and how to pick a scene and compose it into a painting that anyone would be proud of. Join us in this beginner-friendly workshop and take your first steps toward unlocking the secrets of plein air painting.

May 24 & 25, 9:00am – 4:00pm

$200 Members, $225 Non Members
