Paper Painting
with Janelle Lindley
Paper Paintings are paintings created by adhering torn pieces of painted, patterned, and printed papers to an art panel. Each torn piece of paper becomes a brush stroke with an impressionist flare in your finished paper painting. The mixture of patterns, lines, and texts produces a vibrant textural effect.
Creating a paper painting takes three steps: 1) Preparing your panel with a painted surface and penciling in your design. 2) Painting your papers. With the use of your Gelli Plate, your stack of papers will transform into a variety of colorful texts, music and imagery with use of stencils and stamps that I will provide. 3) Now with many choices of color values and imagery, the tearing and gluing process begins.
